About the Role:

We're seeking experienced Locomotive Drivers to operate a new short-haul port shuttle service between ITC Somerton Intermodal Terminal and the Port of Melbourne. This is a outstanding opportunity to join a fixed roster on a high-frequency, short-distance freight run, working with 3000 and 6000 class locomotives.

What's On Offer:

- $90 per hour (casual rate)
- Fixed roster – 6 days per week
- Shifts of 8–12 hours per day
- Consistent, short-turnaround port shuttle work (not long-haul)
- Immediate start – we're looking to be operational within days

The Roster:

- Roster cycle
- 6-day operating week
- Regular, predictable shuttle runs between Somerton and the Port of Melbourne

About You:





- Valid Locomotive Driver competency (VIC network experience preferred)
- Current Category 1 Rail Medical
- Experience or familiarity with 3000 and/or 6000 class locomotives highly regarded
- Strong understanding of Melbourne metropolitan rail network and port precinct operations
- Sound knowledge of safe working procedures , signalling, and shunting
- Ability to work a rotating roster including early starts, late finishes, and varied shift lengths
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work autonomously
