The Opportunity
Following significant growth in its Global Construction & International Arbitration practice, our client has created a new position within its Sydney office.
You’ll become part of a highly regarded team that advises on some of the world's most significant infrastructure, energy and construction disputes, working alongside Partners who have built international careers of their own and are recognised leaders in major projects litigation and international arbitration.

The Role
You’ll work across every stage of major disputes, taking an active role in strategic advice, risk management and complex proceedings under the guidance and safety net of highly experienced Partners who are invested in your long-term development.
Your work will include international arbitration, construction adjudications and expert determinations, large-scale commercial litigation, as well as strategic dispute management and risk advisory work. Matters are regularly seated in Australia, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and Singapore, providing genuine international exposure while remaining Sydney-based.
As your experience grows, so too will your level of responsibility. You’ll work directly with clients across every level of the construction and infrastructure sector, including:
- EPC contractors delivering hydroelectric dams and major power generation facilities
- Oil and gas project operators
- State-owned utility providers
- International tunnelling contractors
- Global design and engineering consultants
- Major participants across infrastructure, engineering, transport, utilities, waste, renewables, energy and healthcare
Recent matters include multi-billion-dollar rail, tunnelling, renewable energy, mining, power generation and infrastructure disputes throughout Australia, Asia and the Middle East.
Working closely with colleagues across Australia, Singapore, Dubai and the UK, you’ll be part of a truly global Construction, Infrastructure & Energy (ICE) Disputes team, supporting premium international clients while also contributing to client relationship management and business development initiatives.
The firm is deeply committed to developing specialist project disputes lawyers. Significant investment is made in technical training, leadership development and individual profile building. Lawyers are actively encouraged to speak at industry conferences, publish in leading construction journals and develop their reputation within the market.
About You
This opportunity will suit an ambitious lawyer who is eager to work on market-leading disputes while accelerating their technical and commercial development.
You’ll ideally have:
- Admission as a solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction (or eligibility for admission through reciprocity)
- Experience in contentious construction disputes, or strong commercial litigation experience with a genuine interest in major project disputes
- Approximately 3-8 years' post-admission with a reputable law firm
- Strong analytical ability, commercial judgement and excellent communication skills
- A collaborative approach and genuine enthusiasm for working in an international team
