Here at Amazon we are hiring experienced Operations Managers to join our Customer Fulfillment team for the upcoming launch of a brand new Fulfillment Center in Horsley Park.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the AU Fulfillment Center leadership team during its expansion and growth, where you will define process flows and shape standard work routines as the operations scale up.
As an Operations Manager, you deliver inspiring, inclusive leadership for the teams you supervise and get involved whenever necessary. You’ll directly supervise a team of Area Managers and their direct reports, reporting to the Site Lead. The quality of your leadership is key to achievement in this role.
We currently have multiple opportunities across both day and night shift. The shift pattern is 4 days on and 3 days off.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Maintain Health and Safety standards within your remit area, while promoting an inspiring Health and Safety culture on‑site.
- Become a subject‑matter expert on specific, large‑scale processes and activities within FCs.
- Handle timely data collection and update operations metrics on an hourly basis in the inventory control and systems environment.
- Achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and ensure a high‑quality customer experience.
- Work closely with support teams (HR, Finance, Facilities,
Safety and Security, IT) on staffing plans, schedules and performance levels.
- Implement process change and contribute to cross‑functional Six Sigma initiatives within your site and the broader Amazon Operations network.
Basic Qualifications
- Previous experience in leading large, diverse teams.
- Experience in employee and performance management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience in a similar, cutting-edge logistics, distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis, extract and analyse data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Experience managing a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies.
- Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics or a related field.
