Not every veterinary nursing role is confined to four clinic walls.

This is an chance to combine your clinical skills with community outreach, helping improve the lives of animals and the people who care for them across North Queensland.

Working four days a week, you'll join one of Queensland's most respected animal welfare organisations, supporting community veterinary programs, assisting with surgeries, caring for shelter animals and helping keep pets healthy, safe and with the families who love them.

The Role

No two days will look the same.

You'll work alongside an experienced veterinary team, supporting both community programs and shelter operations while building strong relationships with pet owners, volunteers and local organisations.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures.
- Supporting community veterinary outreach programs.
- Coordinating appointments and communicating with clients.
- Nursing and monitoring animals within the shelter.
- Preparing animals for foster care and adoption.
- Educating pet owners on animal health and responsible ownership.
- Working closely with community partners to improve local animal welfare.
- Supporting volunteers and contributing to the day‑to‑day running of the shelter.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys working with both animals and people.

You thrive in a varied role,



enjoy building relationships within the community and want your work to have a lasting impact beyond the clinic.

We're looking for someone with:

- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent).
- At least three years' veterinary nursing experience.
- Strong clinical and surgical nursing skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and community engagement.
