An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Designer to join the team at Princess Highway.
Known for its vintage-inspired aesthetic with a up-to-date twist, Princess Highway creates unique and timeless apparel loved by customers across Australia.
We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic designer who is passionate about fashion, eager to learn, and excited to work closely with our Creative Director and broader design team.
This is a full-time role based at our Head Office in Abbotsford, working Monday to Friday.
About the Role
In this role, you will support the design team across seasonal range development, research, fittings, shoot preparation, and day-to-day coordination.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the development of seasonal apparel ranges
- Conducting trend research, mood boarding, and competitor analysis
- Preparing CADs, tech packs, and design specifications
- Supporting fittings, fit notes, and communication with suppliers
- Assisting with range reviews, sample management, and shoot preparation
- Maintaining line lists, trackers, and product information
- Supporting the creation of seasonal style guides and marketing assets
- Contributing creative ideas aligned with the Princess Highway aesthetic
- Providing general administrative and organisational support to the design team
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A qualification in Fashion Design or related discipline
- Experience or strong interest in apparel design
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and related design programs
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- A passion for vintage-inspired fashion and emerging trends
- Excellent communication and time management skills
Knowledge of garment production and pattern making will be highly regarded.
