Package valued at up to $182,461. Base salary ranges from $101,122 to $160,983, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience. Note there is no automatic progression to $160,983 – SCAC.
Access to SCAC is available once a school counsellor has progressed through all salary steps and upon successful application for Advanced Certification level against the NSW School Counselling Service PPF.

Responsibilities
/n
School counsellors are essential in the Department's School Counselling Service, providing counselling and psychological assessment of students to complement and enhance teaching. They strengthen student learning and wellbeing outcomes and help families manage their children's learning and mental health needs.
The successful candidate will work with both primary and high‐school aged students at Bega High School, collaborating with school communities, teachers and external agencies to promote a multidisciplinary support system.

Supervision includes regular individual skilled supervision with the Senior Psychologist and participation in group and peer supervision as part of the broader district counselling team.

Selection Criteria
/n

- Experience in counselling using evidence‐based interventions with a demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people.
/n
- Experience in the psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
/n
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes for students from diverse backgrounds and needs.

Conditions

- Registered or provisionally registered psychologist, or eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
/n
- Ability and willingness to travel between worksites; must possess a valid unrestricted provisional or full driver's licence.
/n
- Position is under the Teachers award. Eligible applicants must have unconditional, full approval to teach or be in the process of obtaining it concurrently with the application.
