About the Role
The Senior Booking & Events Officer plays a key role in coordinating hires across27 Councilvenues,driving utilisation and ensuring seamless customer experiences that align with Council priorities.
Reporting to the Team Leader - Peninsula Venue Management, the core responsibilities include:
Undertakeapplication assessments,provideevent guidance, ensure booking compliance, coordinate venue viewings, manage debt, reporting, and event scheduling — all in line with Council policies and procedures.
- Proactive, expert support to hirers
Resulting inhirer satisfaction and retention, improved efficiency with fewer event issues, and the consistent delivery ofaccurate,timely, and tailored support.
Ensuringvenueand event information within the booking system,website and relevant documents isaccurate, up to date, accessible and auditable (internally and externally) to help gain efficiencies and increase and accessibility.
Promote and contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, processes, systems, and standards to drive innovation, efficiency, and effective venue utilisation and booking management across Council.
About You
- Completion of a degree or diploma in event management and/or lesser formalqualifications with experience in the booking management,activationandadministration of multi-use facilities.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritise competing demands, work under pressure, and meet deadlines while aligning with unitobjectivesand operational requirements.
- High levelof interpersonal and written communication skills to deal with alllevels of internal and external stakeholders.
