Position Summary
The Human Resources Specialist plays a key role in supporting HR operations across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring compliance with local employment legislation, company policies and HR best practices. This role is responsible for employee relations, HR compliance and providing practical HR advice to managers across the employee lifecycle. The successful candidate will have a robust understanding of Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards, workplace investigations, performance management and disciplinary processes.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation, employment changes, offboarding, and maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems.
Employment Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards (NES), Modern Awards, company policies, and employment documentation.
Monitor legislative changes and support HR compliance initiatives.
Employee Relations
- Support managers with employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes, workplace investigations, grievance handling, and lawful termination procedures.
HR Operations & Reporting
- Coordinate HR administration, leave management, payroll-related HR support, HR reporting, workforce data analysis, and continuous improvement of HR processes and documentation.
Learning, Engagement & HR Projects
- Coordinate employee induction, compliance training, employee engagement initiatives, policy implementation, and support regional HR projects across Australia and New Zealand.
Key Requirements / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in Human Resources, with experience supporting HR operations in Australia highly regarded.
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, Modern Awards and other relevant workplace laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations and the ability to manage workplace matters professionally and appropriately.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of attention to detail, accountability and professionalism.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR information systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
