TasEquip is a small statewide service. We operate a loan scheme for eligible clients to loan equipment to discharge from hospital or to stay safely at home. The equipment we manage includes but is not limited to commodes, walking aides, and hospital beds.

The small TasEquip team works together to achieve an efficient and effective service across the whole of the equipment loan cycle (procurement, commission, track, deliver, collect, return, clean, check and repair). In addition to handling equipment the team deal with health professionals who request equipment and the patients who are our customers and their families.

The Team

In addition to handling equipment the team deal with health professionals who request equipment and the patients who are our customers and their families.

The Role

- The Asset Cleaner / Handyman is the practical 'hands on' member of the team. Working closely with the other team members they have a diverse range of practical tasks that provide a mixed and varied workday. They undertake
- Routine maintenance repairs and minor alterations to equipment (non-trade functions).
- the delivery, collection and minor repairs of assets in the community.
- effective and efficient cleaning of assets in accordance with Agency policies and guidelines.

- If you have an eye for detail,



know your way around minor repairs, and like to see things clean this job will provide you with a varied and interesting workday.

You will need

- Demonstrated ability and experience in efficient cleaning to a consistently high standard, or the capacity to acquire such knowledge.
- Knowledge and understanding of the safe handling of chemicals, safe manual handling techniques and work health and safety principles.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, together with sound communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience is minor repairs and maintenance.

Details of appointment

Permanent part time, shift worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$59,668 to $65,185 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

- Registration to Work with Vulnerable People -NDIS

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

- Completion of Certificate III in Asset Maintenance (Cleaning Operations) or similar and/or previous cleaning experience preferably within a healthcare setting
- Completion of Certificate III in a mechanical repair, or similar and/or previous repair/maintenance experience, preferably within a healthcare setting
- Current Driver’s Licence
