We are seeking an experienced Family and Criminal Lawyer to join our legal team. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to work across both family and criminal law matters, providing comprehensive legal services to our diverse client base.

This role is integral to our practice and will allow you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families navigating complex legal challenges. The position is based in Gosford, with work from home opportunities. You will work collaboratively with our experienced legal professionals to deliver high-quality legal representation and advice.

Key responsibilities

Providing comprehensive legal advice and representation to clients in family law matters, including divorce, property settlement, custody and child support disputes

Handling criminal law cases, including advising clients on criminal charges, preparing defences, and representing clients in court proceedings

Drafting legal documents, agreements and correspondence relating to both family and criminal matters

Conducting thorough case analysis and legal research to support client representation

Negotiating settlements and mediating disputes between parties where appropriate

Attending court hearings and advocating effectively on behalf of clients

Maintaining detailed case files and ensuring compliance with legal practice standards and deadlines

Communicating clearly with clients to ensure they understand their legal position and options

Collaborating with colleagues to provide cohesive legal services across the practice

Contributing to the development of practice procedures and client service improvements

What we're looking for

Admission to practice as a lawyer in an Australian jurisdiction

Demonstrated experience in family law practice, including matters such as property settlement, parenting arrangements and family dispute resolution

Solid experience in criminal law, with exposure to both summary and indictable offences





Strong written and oral advocacy skills with the ability to present complex legal arguments persuasively

Excellent communication abilities to explain legal concepts clearly to clients from diverse backgrounds

Sound legal research and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

The ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines

A professional and empathetic approach to working with clients experiencing difficult personal circumstances

Proficiency with legal practice management software and Microsoft Office applications

A commitment to ethical practice and professional development in the legal field

Candidates must have 2+ years of experience in family and criminal law practice
