About Us

AIC Mines is entering an exciting period of growth across our North West Queensland operations, with the Jericho Mine progressing towards production over the coming months.

Located near Cloncurry, Eloise Copper Mine is an established underground operation producing high-grade copper concentrate. Together with the development of Jericho, Eloise is an important part of AIC Mines' growth strategy.

This is a great opportunity to join an experienced underground team focused on safety, teamwork, performance and continuous improvement.

The Role

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient charging and firing of both development and production blasts across our underground operations.

This role is critical to supporting mining schedules, maintaining safe work areas and contributing to strong production outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

- Development and production charging, including upholes and downholes
- Using Orica products and systems, including Hypercharge Emulsion and i-kon detonators
- Operating Orica Blaster 3000 and i-kon Logger II remote firing systems
- Preparing, charging and firing underground headings and production stopes
- Managing explosive storage, transport and stock control in line with site procedures
- Inspecting work areas, identifying hazards and ensuring all work is completed safely
- Completing required charging and blasting documentation
- Working closely with development,



production and technical services teams
- Supporting the crew to achieve safe and efficient mining outcomes

About You

You will be an experienced underground Charge Up Operator or Shotfirer who takes pride in working safely and contributing to a strong team.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

- A minimum of one to two years’ experience in underground charge-up operations
- Experience with both development and production charging
- Experience using Orica charging products, systems and firing equipment, highly regarded
- A strong commitment to safety and following site procedures
- Positive communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- A current manual Queensland driver's licence
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and police clearance
- A current Queensland Explosives Security Clearance card and Queensland Shotfirer's Licence are desirable but not essential.
