About the role

Kirby Hawke Chartered Accountants is seeking a full-time Accountant Tax & Business Services to join our growing team in Osborne Park, WA. This is a strategic position that plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive tax and business advisory services to our diverse client base. You will be responsible for providing expert guidance on taxation matters whilst supporting clients with broader business services, directly contributing to our reputation as trusted advisors in the accounting industry.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies and trusts across various industries

- Providing strategic tax planning advice to optimize client tax positions and minimize liabilities

- Conducting tax compliance reviews and ensuring adherence to current Australian tax legislation

- Delivering business advisory services including financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting

- Liaising with clients to gather financial information and clarify tax positions

- Managing relationships with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on behalf of clients

- Performing bookkeeping and accounting services to support clients' financial records

- Assisting with year-end accounts preparation and financial reporting

- Maintaining knowledge of current tax law changes and communicating these to relevant clients

- Contributing to business development initiatives and maintaining strong client relationships

What we're looking for

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related discipline





- Membership or working towards membership of a professional accounting body such as CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) or the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA)

- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a taxation or accounting advisory role

- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation law and compliance requirements

- Proficiency with accounting software and tax preparation systems

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients

- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet tight deadlines, particularly during tax season

- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and staying current with tax legislation

- Experience in providing business advisory or management accounting services is highly desirable

- Client relationship management experience and a proactive approach to identifying advisory opportunities
