St Stephen's Uniting Church Toowoomba Meals on Wheels is seeking an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our finance team. This is a part-time position based in Toowoomba, QLD . In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices and maintaining accurate financial records. This position plays a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of our organisation and supporting our mission to deliver meals and services to our community.

What you'll be doing

- Processing and recording customer invoices and payments in the accounting system
- Monitoring and following up on outstanding customer accounts and overdue invoices
- Preparing aged accounts receivable reports and analysing collection trends
- Communicating with customers regarding payment issues and resolving billing disputes
- Maintaining accurate customer records and updating account information
- Reconciling customer payments to invoices and bank deposits
- Supporting the credit control function to minimise bad debts and improve cash flow
- Assisting with general administrative tasks to assist with service operations when required

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or a similar finance role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts receivable best practices
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications




- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with customer queries
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications such as a bookkeeping or accounting qualification, or relevant industry experience
- Experience in the not-for-profit or community services sector is advantageous
