JS Careers is pleased to be exclusively partnering with a leading global private equity investor to appoint an Associate or Senior Associate into its Sydney investment team. Recognised as one of the world's pre-eminent alternative funds, this American firm has built an exceptional reputation for doing innovative deals, both in Australia and around the world. With significant capital available for deployment across A/NZ, the team is seeking an outstanding investment professional to play a key role in buying and managing major private equity investments.
The Sydney team focuses on large-cap investment opportunities across Australia and New Zealand, partnering with management teams to acquire market-leading businesses. Working as part of a high-performing team with significant global resources, this role offers exceptional exposure across the full investment lifecycle and direct interaction with senior investment professionals both locally and internationally.

and in addition to deal experience offers long-term career development in both local and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and originate private equity investment opportunities across Australia and New Zealand
- Lead financial analysis, valuation and complex financial modelling for prospective and existing investments
- Execute transactions including due diligence, management of external advisers, negotiation support and transaction structuring
- Prepare investment committee papers, strategic analyses and recommendations for senior decision-makers
- Work closely with portfolio company management teams to support strategic initiatives, operational improvement and value creation
- Monitor existing investments, identifying opportunities to enhance long-term enterprise value and support future capital allocation decisions.
Candidate Profile
- ~3-8 years of qualified experience, with a portion of this gained within private equity or similar principal investing role
- Outstanding financial modelling, analytical and commercial capabilities developed through complex M&A; transactions
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills;
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Law or a related discipline with a strong academic record.
