Role: Commercial Marketing Manager, ANZ (Fixed-Term – Parental Leave Cover)
This role can be based in Sydney office. Role Summary:
The Commercial Marketing Manager is responsible for end-to-end commercial strategy and plan for ANZ including category & brand management and marketing & communication, ensuring the delivery of P&L; and sales. This role leads and develops the ANZ commercial marketing team in setting, delivering, tracking and reporting on commercial activity plans. The role holder will be expected to use a variety of levers, tools and approaches to drive like-for-like sales growth and gross margin improvement, such as range improvement, optimisation of price and promotion, upselling and maximisation of the use of space, and will drive category performance as well as the performance of the brand or brands.
Main Responsibilities:
Accountable for country commercial performance (LFL sales and gross profit), delivering stretch EBITDA targets
Develop and track the country’s commercial activity plan (including commercial initiatives and marketing activities)
Define and drive strategies across range, pricing, promotions, brand identity, brand guidelines, and innovation
Oversee day‑to‑day brand operations, partnering with Finance, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Creative, NPD, Data, and Digital teams
Conduct commercial evaluation of initiatives with support from the Analytics team
Monitor and report performance regularly, assess forecast achievement, ensure EBITDA delivery, and implement corrective actions where required
Deliver brand gross margin targets within respective countries
Grow revenue streams through supplier income management
Develop and implement pricing strategies and architectures
Lead commercial space planning and space management initiatives
Manage category and channel strategies
Drive customer journey optimization and commercial experience strategies
Lead brand planning and proposition management (including guidelines, concepts, and audits)
Monitor competitor activity and brand partner performance
Manage brand relationships (local, third-party, and international partners)
Lead concept design and brand refresh initiatives
Own and be accountable for menu, range, and recipe development
Prepare and lead briefs for cross-functional services (e.g., NPD, creative design)
Support recent openings by: Developing and delivering new concepts and service initiatives and managing commercial setup including range, pricing, POS, merchandising, space planning, and planograms
Drive commercial sustainability initiatives
Support Procurement in supplier negotiations, focusing on unlocking incremental brand-funded trade marketing income through activations, promotions, and joint business plans
Own and manage third-party brand relationships where applicable
Compile case studies and promote best practices across the region
Spend time in the field to observe execution and support implementation
Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the country’s commercial team Person Specification:
Proven experience in developing and delivering commercial plans, leveraging key levers such as pricing, range, display, space, upselling, margin, and category optimisation to drive results
Strong track record of achieving profit targets within a sales-driven environment
Experience in the food & beverage or retail sector within the country
Ability to drive decision-making through data analysis and evidence-based insights, rather than intuition
