About the role

We are seeking friendly, energetic individuals who are looking for a rewarding role as a Community Support Worker. Entry level and experienced positions available.
This is the perfect second or student job where you can work as many hours as you want per week. Great for any occupational therapy, nurse, social work or psychology students looking to get real-life experience in the field.

Majority of our available shifts are Monday to Friday between 7am and 7pm in the evening.
Base rate $36.81 per hour (plus superannuation) for entry level candidates. Higher rates on weekends and evenings or
Base rate $40.16 per hour (plus superannuation) for experienced candidates with relevent qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
- Hours range from 10 to 30 hours a week depending on your availability and preferences, shifts are 3-6 hours on average.
- Driving between clients houses for shifts is required so access to a reliable car is a must. Fixed rate travel allowance for driving between clients houses provided when working more than one shift in a day.
- Our clients need reliable and consistent support workers. You must be available at least 3 full days on an ongoing basis including weekdays (which is when most of our clients require services).
- Must have a reliable car and be a confident driver to assist clients to access the community (reimbursement for kilometres and tolls provided whilst on shift).
- We offer part-time roles to suitable staff after they have been with us for more than 6 months with a consistent roster of clients.

Ready Enable is a non-religious and independent organisation. We provide person-centred services focusing on the individual preferences and choices.
We support adults and young people with disability, older people and those who just need some help around the house, or out-and-about, or even on holidays. We provide social support and therapy assistance for mental health recovery as well.

Locations
We are currently recruiting for clients in:
- Eastern Suburbs
- Inner West
- Redfern
- Ashfield
- St George Area
- Lower North Shore
Duties include all of the below tasks:
- Driving clients and running errands - an Australian drivers license and car are a MUST HAVE
- Assist people to live as independently as possible in their own home and in the community, remove barriers and engage in a full life
- Some personal care including helping people shower, getting dressed and performing daily activities, laundry etc.
- Providing social support to people with disabilities and people recovering from mental health issues
- Assist people with physical and psycho-social disabilities to remain independent in their own homes
- Assisting with light housework, vacuuming, mopping, kitchen, bathroom
- Occasionally provide therapy assistance to support the implementation of physical, speech, OT and psychological plans and strategies (as directed by their allied health teams)
- Assist people to get out and about in the community
- Assist people get to and from appointments, fill in forms and apply for other supports like social housing, employment or other entitlements
- Hanging out and making plans to try new thing
- Help with cooking and doing dishes, planning meals, groceries
- Keeping clients company and providing positive social support and build confidence
- Reviewing and updating care support plans

We take your work, health and safety seriously, we provide regular face-to-face support and check-in phone calls to make sure you are well supported.
MANDATORY Requirements (must have or commence process before applying):
- Australian Drivers License own vehicle or access to a reliable vehicle to drive clients places and run errands
- Must be available at least 3-4 full days per week minimum
- Level of physical fitness for manual handling and domestic tasks (lift up to 10kg)
- Current 1st Aid Certificate & CPR
- NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- NDIS Worker Check (NDIS WC)
- Yearly Flu vaccinations
- NDIS Supporting Effective Communication and Worker Orientation Modules (Free - Online)
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable, responsible attitude towards work (available at least 3-4 days each week)
- Access to the internet & smart phone for rosters and client reporting
- Confident driving skills
Desirable:
- Education or training in disability, mental health or community services
- Qualifications or studying towards Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Speech and Allied Health Assistants, or Community Services.
- Registered and Enrolled nurses looking for versatile community work
