The short version An Australian SaaS business built for the rural sector is hiring a Content Creator who actually knows the difference between a header and a headline.
You will write the emails, shoot the video, cut the video, and tell the stories of the producers who use the technology. Some of that happens at a desk on Sydney's North Shore. Some of it happens standing in a paddock at six in the morning with a camera and a thermos, waiting for the light.
If the second part sounds better than the first, keep reading.
Who we're looking for
Someone with red dust in their history. You grew up on the land, worked on it, married into it, or have spent enough time in rural Australia that you can hold a conversation with a grazier without either of you feeling like you're speaking a second language.
That connection is not a nice-to-have here. It's the job. You can teach a city creative how to use After Effects. You cannot teach them why a producer checking water on a 40,000 hectare property cares deeply about something that a marketing team in Surry Hills would find unremarkable.
Banjo Paterson put it better than any brief ever could:
"And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended"
We want someone who still sees it.
What you'll actually do
Write. Customer emails, campaign copy, product explainers, social captions, newsletters. Strong written communication is not a bullet point on this ad, it is roughly forty per cent of the role. If your writing is weak, this is not your job.
Create. Video, photography, graphics, digital content. You'll produce it, edit it, and adapt it across Meta, TikTok, YouTube and display. Basic motion graphics and animation are part of the toolkit.
Edit. Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, CapCut or whatever you've made your own. The cut matters more than the kit.
Get out there. You'll travel to customer properties to capture producer stories, product demonstrations and real-world use. Boots on,
phone signal optional.
Own the organic channels. Content calendars, publishing rhythms, community engagement. You'll build the audience, not just feed it.
Support the commercial side. The content has a job to do: bring in current customers, help existing ones get more from the product, and keep them around. Creative that looks lovely and does nothing is not the standard here.
What you'll bring
- Experience creating content across social, digital and customer communication channels
- Genuinely strong writing. This gets tested.
- Video production and editing capability, plus basic motion design
- Photography skills, or a good eye and the willingness to sharpen them
- Real understanding of agriculture, farming or rural communities
- Comfort with ambiguity, because the business is growing quickly and the ground shifts
Nice to have: rural industry or agritech experience, email marketing and CRM exposure, paid media support, content for SaaS or subscription products. The environment A high-growth SaaS business solving real problems in the field for rural operators, backed by a marketing team that gives specialists room to own their craft. You'll report to the Creative Director and work alongside designers, digital marketers and the sales team.
It moves fast. Decisions get made. Nobody is precious.
To borrow from Paterson once more, the person who thrives here is:
"hard and tough and wiry, just the sort that won't say die"
Which is a dramatic way of saying we would like someone who follows through.
