Synergie Australia is seeking a Survey Officer (Scientific Assistant – Recreational Fishing) for a Government Department located in Rockhampton .

The important parts:

- 4 shifts per month (Friday and weekend) - approx. 16-20 hours per month
- Hourly pay rate $39.67 + penalty rates
- Immediate start - flexible and rewarding role

What you will be required to do:

This position plays a key role in supporting recreational fishing research and data collection in Queensland.

- Visit local boat ramps in the Rockhamptonarea
- Interview recreational fishers using a set survey script
- Identify, count, and measure fish species
- Record and submit accurate data promptly
- Provide information and answer questions from the public using supplied resources

To be successful in the role you will:

- Have robust communication and interpersonal skills




- Demonstrate attention to detail for accurate data collection
- Bring basic knowledge of fishing and fish species (essential)
- Have full working rights in Australia
- Have access to reliable transport to attend boat ramps
- Demonstrate a positive attitude towards safety and its importance in every role
