The Company:

My industry partner is an established meat and food supplier with a strong international customer base and an expanding export function. The business is seeking an experienced Export Logistics Manager to implement systems and processes more thoroughly, whilst managing the two administrations officer. This is a key leadership role for someone who can bring greater structure, accountability and consistency to the business.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the General Manager of Export, you'll lead two shipping and customer service officers while managing the company’s end to end export logistics operations. A major focus of the role will be reviewing current practices and introducing improved systems, processes and controls. You'll create clearer ways of working, improve communication and develop a reliable, responsive export support team.

- Leading and coordinating the workload of two shipping and customer service officers.
- Managing export logistics across sea freight, air freight and road transport.
- Overseeing vessel, container and freight bookings.
- Coordinating orders with production facilities, cold stores, freight forwarders and supply chain partners.
- Monitoring shipment schedules and proactively resolving delays and disruptions.
- Ensuring orders are processed, booked, shipped and delivered in line with customer requirements.
- Overseeing export documentation, letters of credit and regulatory compliance.
- Providing accurate shipment and product updates to customers and internal stakeholders.




- Managing customer queries and resolving logistics issues.
- Monitoring freight expenditure and supporting the freight accrual process.
- Maintaining accurate information across export and business systems.
- Producing operational and performance reports.
- Implementing practical systems, processes and controls.
- Supporting and acting as backup to the General Manager of Export when required.

The Candidate:

I'm seeking an experienced export logistics skilled who's worked directly for a supplier, producer, processor, manufacturer or exporter within a meat, food or agricultural category. Candidates with experience mostly with shipping lines are not suitable.

- At least five years international export logistics experience.
- Strong sea freight and export shipping knowledge.
- Experience with perishable food or ag products.
- Supplier experience within meat, food, agriculture or a related commodity.
- Previous experience leading a small operational or administration team.
- A demonstrated ability to introduce structure, systems and improved processes.
- Strong export documentation and letters of credit knowledge.
- Experience working with production sites, cold stores, freight forwarders and other supply chain partners.
- Excellent customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands on approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience using ImpexDocs, NEXDOC, REX or SAGE would be advantageous.
- Relevant qualifications in logistics, supply chain, international business or international trade would also be well regarded.

The Offer:

Salary of $130,000 + superannuation.

Permanent position based in western Sydney.

Leadership responsibility for a team of two.

The opportunity to create structure and improve an important export function.

Broad responsibility across logistics, documentation, customer service and continuous improvement for all export sales within the wider company.
