This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed educator to lead a key faculty area, strengthen curriculum and assessment practice, and contribute meaningfully to the school’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence within an Islamic educational environment.

Purpose:The Head of Department (HOD) is responsible for professionally leading the development, delivery and evaluation of the 7-12 HSIE curriculum as well as management of resources and leadership of staff to promote quality teaching and learning. The HOD is an academic leader within the department, assisting teachers to develop their own teaching practice and leadership skills.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong understanding of, and commitment to, the Islamic ethos of the school,



actively supporting the school’s philosophy, values, beliefs and mission while contributing to a caring, respectful and supportive setting for students, staff and families.

The successful applicant will also demonstrate:

- the ability to lead, model and drive faculty practice that is grounded in the school’s educational philosophy, ensuring high expectations, purposeful teaching and successful outcomes for all learners.
- a commitment to ongoing professional learning and willingness to engage deeply with the Islamic worldview and pedagogy;
- the ability to lead regular analysis of student achievement, assessment and growth data to inform faculty planning, strengthen teaching practice, monitor progress, and drive measurable improvement in student learning outcomes;
- current NESA accreditation, with a strong understanding of assessment practices, including both formative and summative assessments, and extensive experience in Stage 6 HSIE;
- relevant experience in a similar leadership or coordinator role;
- excellence in curriculum design, innovation and implementation, including the purposeful integration of digital technologies to enhance student learning;
- the capacity to provide dynamic and effective leadership, mentoring and support, including providing regular formal and informal feedback for teachers within the HSIE faculty across campuses;




- strong communication and highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and effective relationships with students, staff, parents and key stakeholders.
