About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Nurse Unit Manager for our Greensborough DSU. This position is a maternity leave cover and is being offered for 11 months from October 2026.
Reporting to the State Business Manager, the Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for Standards of Nursing Practice within the facility and takes overall responsibility forcoordination of patient care and day surgery unit management. Imperative to your success in this role will be delivering exceptional clinical outcomes.

Applicants in patient contact roles will be required to provide evidence of immunity against specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker. Applicants will also need to provide evidence of a Working with Children Check and Police Check.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for Standards of Nursing Practice.
- Oversee care delivery and coordinate the activities of a multi-disciplinary team ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Strive for clinical excellence at all times across the organisation by working in partnership with other departments to ensure a consistent, caring patient journey.
- Demonstrate leadership to the day surgery nursing and administrative team to complement the strategic, budget and business direction of the day surgery.
- Manage resourcing, rostering, leave and staff allocations.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and performance management of team.
- Maintain compliance through regular audits and adherence to the NSQHS standards.
- Ensure staff skill, training and competency levels are continually reviewed and developed to meet the needs of the business.
- Maintain and manage robust collaboration with all Visiting Medical Officers and key stakeholders within the Adora business.
About You
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Nurse Unit Manager, wanting to further their career and grow their skills in managing a small private day hospital.
You will be an energetic leader with the following skills:
- Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
- Experience in managing or assisting the management of day surgery operations (minimum 3 years)
- Extensive and current clinical practice in perioperative role (minimum 5 years)
- Ability to achieve results through consultation, advice and facilitation
- Knowledge of NSQHS Standards and the National Accreditation Process
- Leadership capabilities with the ability to motive and engage staff
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skillswith the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders.
- High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
- Ability to foster a positive service orientated culture that encourages sound patient care and strengthens medical, nursing and interdisciplinary relationships and teams
