About My Migration Lawyers

My Migration Lawyers is a national Australian law firm practising exclusively in migration law. We assist individuals, families and employers across Australia through a fully remote legal service.

Our practice covers partner and family visas, protection visas, skilled migration, employer sponsorship, visa cancellations and refusals, Administrative Review Tribunal matters, judicial review and other complex migration matters.

As our firm continues to grow, we are recruiting multiple immigration lawyers at both junior and senior levels.

Positions Available

Junior Immigration Lawyers

These positions are suitable for early-career lawyers who have practical experience in Australian migration law and want to develop their technical skills under the guidance of experienced senior lawyers.

Junior lawyers will receive ongoing supervision, mentoring and structured professional development while gaining exposure to a broad range of migration matters.

Senior Immigration Lawyers

These positions are suitable for experienced immigration lawyers capable of providing independent, strategic advice across complex Australian migration matters.

Senior applicants must have at least three years of experience practising Australian migration law and hold an unrestricted Australian practising certificate. Strong experience in partner visas, protection visas, ART matters or judicial review will be highly regarded.

The Roles

Depending on your experience and seniority, your responsibilities may include:

- Conducting legal consultations with prospective clients by Zoom.

- Assessing eligibility, legal merit, available visa pathways and appropriate legal strategies.

- Providing clear, accurate and practical advice about migration options, risks and likely outcomes.

- Identifying adverse issues, including previous refusals, visa cancellations,



character concerns, credibility issues and evidentiary deficiencies.

- Advising prospective clients when their matter does not have sufficient merit or is otherwise unsuitable to proceed.

- Preparing and reviewing visa applications, submissions, statements, evidence and supporting documentation.

- Managing matters involving partner visas, protection visas, employer-sponsored visas, skilled migration and other migration pathways.

- Assisting with visa refusals, cancellations, ART proceedings and other complex matters.

- Preparing costs agreements, engagement documents and related correspondence.

- Conducting legal research and remaining current with legislative, policy and case-law developments.

- Maintaining accurate file records and professional, timely communication with clients.

- Contributing to the firm’s precedents, knowledge base and internal resources.

- Complying with the firm’s procedures, service standards and professional obligations.

Senior lawyers may also be responsible for:
- Independently managing complex migration matters.

- Reviewing work prepared by junior lawyers and paralegals.

- Supervising, mentoring and supporting junior team members.

- Contributing to internal training, technical development and quality assurance.

About You To be considered, you must:

- Be admitted as an Australian lawyer.

- Hold a current Australian practising certificate.

- Have the right to work in Australia.

- Have practical experience in Australian migration law.

- Have experience using ImmiAccount and preparing migration-related legal work.

- Demonstrate strong legal analysis, drafting and communication skills.





- Be capable of providing transparent and commercially practical advice.

- Be organised, reliable and comfortable working in a fully remote environment.

- Be able to manage competing deadlines without compromising accuracy or client service.

- Exercise sound professional judgement and recognise when a matter requires escalation.

Junior applicants should demonstrate a genuine commitment to developing a long-term career in migration law.

Senior applicants must be able to work independently and provide strategic advice in complex matters.

How We Work

My Migration Lawyers operates entirely online. Our lawyers work remotely from locations across Australia while collaborating through modern legal systems, regular team meetings and clearly defined processes.

This is a genuine remote position, but applicants must be based in Australia and able to work effectively during the firm’s ordinary business hours.
