The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Strategic Safety, People, and Wellbeing. This senior leadership role is pivotal in shaping the safety and people agenda for the largest transport and health infrastructure program in the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving cultural change and organizational capability at a portfolio scale, with a focus on strategic safety oversight, people and capability management, and wellbeing.

The role is not directive but requires a team-oriented and influential approach to build aligned autonomy across various project offices. Key responsibilities include chairing the cross-project-office People and Culture executive committee, progressing gender equality and cultural safety action plans, and strengthening safety oversight across the entire portfolio. The Executive Director will also represent the company in strategic relationships with critical stakeholders.

Applicants for this role should be senior leaders with a strong background in health and safety, particularly within major infrastructure delivery,



large-scale construction, or a complex federated government environment. A deep understanding of the strategic active client safety model or an equivalent framework is essential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead and develop a mature people and culture function, and a comprehensive understanding of the legislative and enterprise agreement landscape in these domains.

The role requires a leader with gravitas, authenticity, and the ability to influence through active listening and rapport. The candidate should be adept at building consensus, driving cultural change, and providing visible, accessible leadership that commands trust. Comfort in operating in ambiguity and a focus on progress rather than perfection are also key attributes for this position.
