About the role We have an exciting prospect for an MCH Nurse to join our Early Years Team in a Permanent Part Time capacity (0.6FTE). The Maternal and Child Health Nurse provides holistic, child and family-centred healthcare to families with children from birth to six years of age. Working within Maternal and Child Health program frameworks and guidelines, the role supports the health, development and wellbeing of children while strengthening family capacity and community connections.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DAILY DUTIES Respond to birth notifications and arrange newborn contacts and home visits within required timeframes.

Deliver Maternal and Child Health consultations and developmental assessments for children aged 0-6 years.

Monitor and assess child health, growth, development and wellbeing using evidence-based frameworks and screening tools.

Provide education, guidance, counselling and support to parents and carers on child health and parenting matters.

Identify and support vulnerable children and families through assessment, referral and coordinated service responses.

Promote and support breastfeeding through education and practical assistance.

Maintain accurate client documentation and contribute to service data collection and reporting requirements.

Work collaboratively across Early Years Services and Council to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.

Uphold Child Safe Standards and Council's commitment to child safety and wellbeing. This is a part-time permanent role at 0.6FTE. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.



This is a MCH classified role. Remuneration will be $121,845.35 to

$128,891.44(depending on experience) (pro-rata for part time) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will bring to this role The key selection criteria for this role are:

Recognised qualifications in Maternal and Child Health Nursing Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (without restrictions) as a: a.

Registered

Nurse; and, b. Midwife.

Self-motivated person with an enthusiasm to promote holistic health care to meet the needs of children utilising a child centered, family strengths-based approach with demonstrated competency in physical assessment of children 0-6 years Demonstrated understanding on the delivery of the Victorian MCH Program Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with adults and children including the ability to liaise and communicate with the community, other health professionals and local agencies Demonstrated understanding of family dynamics and societal complexities which impact on parenting capacity, while working with families from a broad spectrum of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds Demonstrated understanding of Child and Family Violence Information Sharing Schemes and risk assessment frameworks Demonstrated commitment to Knox’s values and behaviours and own professional development To apply, please upload your resume and answer the following questions:
