About NXT Bioscience

NXT Bioscience combines plant science, robotics, and automation to make clonal propagation scalable and reliable. Based at Tumbi Umbi on the Central Coast, we are validating micropropagation growth conditions, redesigning liquid media systems from first principles, and producing commercial crop dossiers across berries, sugar, potatoes, landscape grass, and bioenergy crops. Real science, on real hardware, with commercial outcomes that matter.

The Role

A hands‑on Research Assistant supporting our R&D; team, reporting to the Head of Plant Science Research. You will keep trial integrity intact between formal assessments — monitoring plant material, environmental conditions, and trial setup, and escalating issues before they cost us a trial cycle.





What You’ll Do

- Verify trial setup in production systems before work commences
- Inspect plant material pre‑and post‑trial — flag quality issues, take photos, record deviations
- Monitor active micropropagation trials for contamination, vitrification, dis‑colouration, poor growth, and/or environmental issues
- Monitor and ensure environmental conditions remain reliable for trial duration
- QC labelling, vessel management, replicates, and counts match production system
- Prepare technical notes on issues identified — with photos and likely impact
- Escalate promptly when trial quality may be compromised
