ABOUT THIS ROLE The Senior People & Culture Officer provides senior-level support and subject-matter expertise across the employee lifecycle, working closely with the Senior People & Culture Advisors to deliver high-quality P&C; Advice. The role leads on non-complex employee relations matters and compliance, ensuring HR processes are delivered accurately, professionally, and in accordance with employment legislation, Enterprise Agreements, and company policies. The role also provides guidance and mentoring to junior HR team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employee Relations
· Manage non-complex employee relations matters and performance management cases with a degree of autonomy, escalating complex or high-risk matters as appropriate.
· Draft and review disciplinary correspondence, consultation letters, show cause letters, outcome letters and other employment-related documentation.
· Lead meetings and consultations, ensuring documentation and case files are accurate, complete and confidential.
· Monitor performance management actions and associated timeframes, proactively identifying and addressing risks.
HR Reporting and Compliance
· Prepare and analyse HR reports and workforce metrics, providing insights to inform decision-making.
· Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act, Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards and company policies, identifying and addressing gaps.
· Maintain and improve HR registers, training records and compliance documentation.
General Support
· Provide support for Enterprise Agreement negotiations, including preparation of negotiation parameter and negotiation strategy input.
· Research benchmarking of wages, benefits and employment conditions.
· Partner with the Senior People & Culture Advisors and the broader P&C; team on HR projects and initiatives,
contributing subject-matter expertise.
· Drive continuous improvement of HR processes and documentation.
· Manage HR documentation and safeguard the confidentiality of employee information.
· Provide guidance to junior HR team members on administrative processes and best practice.
· Undertake other duties as required.
ABOUT YOU
· Tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or a related discipline (or currently working towards).
· Minimum two years’ experience in a People & Culture Officer or similar role.
· Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume, transactional People & Culture environment.
· Sound understanding of Australian employment legislation, Enterprise Agreements, and Fair Work Act requirements.
· Experience within the Construction, Mining Services, or a similar industry, ideally supporting a multi-site or remote workforce.
· Solid analytical capability with a focus on data-driven insights and continuous process improvement.
