At Monash Women's, we're looking for an experienced Midwife Manager to lead our Birth Suite team at Dandenong Hospital. Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary leadership team, you'll foster a culture of trust, accountability and continuous improvement while ensuring the safe and effective delivery of maternity services in a dynamic, high‑acuity workplace.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll provide visible leadership across Birth Suite, balancing the demands of a busy maternity service with a genuine commitment to developing your team.

Your ability to build relationships, support staff through change and create a positive workplace culture will be just as important as your operational expertise.

In this role you will:

- Lead, coach and develop a skilled and dedicated Birth Suite team.
- Foster a respectful, inclusive and high‑performing workplace culture.
- Support staff wellbeing, professional development and future leadership capability.
- Lead workforce planning, patient flow and daily operational coordination.




- Partner with Obstetric, Neonatal, Anaesthetic and Allied Health teams to deliver exceptional care.
- Drive quality improvement, innovation and evidence‑based practice.
- Lead change with confidence, ensuring staff feel informed, supported and engaged.

About You

You're an experienced midwifery leader who understands that exceptional maternity care begins with an engaged, supported and accountable team. You build trust through authenticity, consistency and clear communication, creating an environment where people feel valued, challenged and empowered to succeed.

You're approachable and compassionate, while having the confidence to make difficult decisions, navigate challenging conversations and address performance concerns with fairness and respect. You lead by example, maintain high clinical standards and inspire those around you to deliver safe, woman‑centred care every day.

You'll bring:

- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a Birth Suite and acute maternity environment, with recent clinical practice to support service delivery when required.
- A proven ability to lead,



motivate and develop high‑performing teams.
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience leading quality improvement and service development initiatives.
- A commitment to safe, evidence‑based and woman‑centred maternity care.
