About the Role

There are multiple permanent, part-time AND part-time Fixed Term (12 months) positions available from 32 to 72 hours per fortnight within the Wombat, General/Specialty Medicical Ward.

We are looking for Registered Nurses that are interested in developing paediatric nursing knowledge and skills to support the provision of general and specialty medical care at The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH). This is a great opportunity for Registered Nurses wanting to transition into a paediatric speciality nursing environment. You will be provided with ongoing professional support and development from an experienced and dedicated Nursing,



Medical and Multidisipinary team.

Internally, this position will be known and/or referred to as: Registered Nurse - Specialty Medicine.

Classification for this position is in accordance with Award 22 - Registered Nurses and will range from YP3 (Grade 2, Year 2) to YP9 (Grade 2, Year 8 ), (FTE base salary $86,580.00 to $107,510.00 per annum, pro rata for part-time, plus Superannuation).

- Integrates nursing and health care knowledge, skills and attitudes to provide safe and effective care
- Participate in quality improvement activities
- Participate in professional development to enhance nursing practice
- Demonstrate analytical skills in accessing and evaluating health information and research evidence
- Practice within a professional & ethical nursing framework

Your skills and experience:

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Career development (CPD) record/Profession al practice Portfolio (PPP)
- Recent acute nursing experience is required

About Wombat Ward:

Wombat is currently a 16 bed General Medical ward that cares for children of all ages, from infants to adolescents with subspecialties of Allergy and Immunology, Haematology, Endocrinology and Rehabilitation. Wombat is also home to the Wurun Treatment Centre,



which operates Monday to Friday and provides access to low-complexity procedures performed under sedation or general anaesthetic (GA) for oncology and haematology patients.
