We are looking for a distinguished scientific leader to take on the role of Vice President, Head of Research and Platform Innovation. This position involves shaping and executing the scientific vision for our nanopore-based protein reading platform while leading diverse research teams across various scientific domains.

What you’ll do

- Develop and implement the scientific strategy and long-term roadmap for the research platform.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams focused on advancing the protein reading platform, setting goals, and defining execution strategies for complex research initiatives.
- Integrate advancements in nanopore science, molecular engineering, and computational analysis to enhance platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with the VP of Technology & Development to align research outcomes with product development and engineering efforts.
- Build partnerships with academic and industry leaders and represent the company to external stakeholders.

Requirements

- Doctorate in biophysics, molecular biology, bioengineering, chemistry, physics, nanotechnology, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of leadership experience in scientific research beyond your doctoral studies.




- Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary research teams and successfully advancing complex technologies toward scalable applications.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information across various scientific disciplines.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities to foster team collaboration.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with nanopore technologies, single-molecule sensing, or proteomics.
- Experience in developing life science tools or instrumentation.
- Background in protein engineering or related areas.
- Prior involvement in venture-backed startups or fast-growing tech firms.

- The salary range for this position is between $290,000 and $315,000, with compensation depending on qualifications and experience.
