My client is hiring an Accident & Health Underwriter to join their Sydney-based team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing underwriting function, contributing to the delivery of market-leading underwriting services within a Sales and Distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Quote and bind new business opportunities
- Manage existing relationships and develop new, meaningful broker and client partnerships
- Continuously review and build a strong pipeline of opportunities
- Manage and promote the A&H; value proposition across a defined broker panel
- Independently negotiate and prepare policy renewals
- Underwrite Accident & Health risks with autonomy and sound judgement
- Price risk to achieve sustainable profitability
- Maintain accurate systems, reporting, and documentation standards
- Ensure high service levels for both internal and external stakeholders
- Follow up and manage broker documentation (placing slips, closings, etc.)
- Identify and escalates key risks and control issues as required
- Represent the business at networking events and industry functions

About You

- 1–3+ years’ experience within underwriting, or transferable experience from claims or insurance broking




- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
- Skilled approach with the ability to present confidently to stakeholders
- Excellent time management and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- High attention to detail with strong analytical capabilities
- A proactive mindset with curiosity and willingness to learn
- Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or a related discipline
