Lead the sales and marketing strategy for Geelong's biggest boutique hotel

Bayside Geelong Hotel & Apartments offers 110 beautifully appointed accommodation,from stylish hotel rooms and studio apartments to fully self-contained one and two-bedroom apartments complemented by versatile event spaces, a fitness centre, pool and sauna, all just minutes from Geelong's vibrant CBD.

We're looking for a commercially minded, relationship-driven leader to take the reins of our sales and marketing function and help us achieve maximum revenue, occupancy and market share.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, as Director of Sales & Marketing you'll lead the charge on everything from strategic sales planning and revenue growth to brand storytelling and digital engagement. You'll manage relationships with our national "Brand" sales team, champion the hotel across trade shows and industry events, and work hand-in-hand with Revenue Management to shape pricing and yield strategies. You'll also step in to oversee hotel operations in the General Manager's absence, ensuring every guest experience remains exceptional.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives on building relationships, spotting opportunity, and turning strategy into results.

What You'll Be Doing

- Developing and driving sales strategies across rooms, conferencing, events and functions
- Setting and delivering monthly sales targets and KPIs aligned to business goals
- Representing Bayside Geelong at trade shows (AIME, ATE) and on the road across Victoria and interstate
- Leading marketing planning and execution — digital, advertising, promotions and PR
- Owning the hotel's social media presence and brand voice
- Collaborating with Revenue Management on pricing and yield strategies




- Building and nurturing key corporate, travel trade and event planner relationships
- Mentoring and developing the conferencing sales team
- Reporting regularly to the General Manager on performance, ROI and market share

What You'll Bring:

- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field
- Minimum 2 years sales and marketing experience in hospitality, including at least 1 year in a leadership role
- Strong familiarity with revenue management practices, digital marketing tools and CRM systems
- Proven negotiation skills and a track record of converting enquiries into revenue
- Excellent communication, organisational and budget management skills
- A current driver's licence, valid Police Clearance, First Aid Certificate, RSA, and willingness to complete Chief Fire Warden training
- Local Geelong market knowledge highly regarded
- Advanced Microsoft 365 skills
- The energy and agility to juggle competing priorities and stay calm under pressure
