Department: Occupational Therapy Services at Alfred Health
The Role
Provide high‑quality assessment and management of patients within the Inpatient ABI Rehabilitation Service. Display autonomy of practice while demonstrating a commitment to patient‑centred care, collaborative practice and evidence‑based knowledge translation.
Involve in teaching/training and quality improvement activities across the Occupational Therapy Service and supervise and mentor Occupational Therapy staff, Allied Health Assistants and undergraduate students.
Must be able to work across all Alfred Health sites (The Alfred, Caulfield Hospital and Sandringham Hospital) including weekends and public holidays based on clinical service demands.
Qualifications and Registrations Required
- Occupational Therapy Qualification
- Current full registration held with the relevant Skilled Board of Australia (AHPRA) or equivalent
- Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership) or equivalent
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence (unrestricted)
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum three years’ clinical experience in Occupational Therapy
- Demonstrated best practice in patient assessment and intervention for patients with acquired brain injury and/or neurological conditions
- Previous experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting is highly desirable
- Experience in supervision of junior staff and students is highly desirable
