Traffic Signage Officer

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Traffic Signage Officer to join the Infrastructure and Works Department of Forbes Shire Council.

Reporting directly to the Supervisor Maintenance, the aim of this position is to operate Council’s traffic facilities truck in an productive and safe manner as required according to verified competency, Council policy, relevant laws, standards and licensing requirements, taking into account the safety of the public, road users and other employees. The role will undertake a range of administration and maintenance activities to ensure the plant is maintained according to Council guidelines and precedent. It requires a high level of autonomy and judgment including unplanned fixes to all traffic signs, road inspection support and other activities while on Council’s network.

Job Description





This role involves operating traffic maintenance equipment, performing administrative tasks, maintaining signage assets, unplanned repairs, road inspection support, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and council policies.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualified to operate traffic maintenance vehicles, strong understanding of traffic signage standards, ability to work independently, excellent judgment, attention to safety, and effective communication skills.
