Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community‑controlled primary health care service, operating in the Rockhampton and wider Central Queensland region for more than 30 years, with a vision for healthy and strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities – self‑determining, culturally strong, and thriving in their own way. The organisation provides comprehensive primary healthcare and wellbeing services,
collaborates with partner agencies for integrated continuity of care and advocates for health policy and health system reform. Their services include general practice bulk‑billing clinics, social and emotional wellbeing and generalist counselling services, chronic disease management, preventative health screening, children and family health and early childhood education services.
Position Description
Bidgerdii Community Health Service is seeking an experienced General Practitioner who values delivering quality patient care as part of their multidisciplinary team in Rockhampton. Position Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent (MBBS)
- Vocational Registration (FRACGP or FACRRM)
- Unconditional AHPRA registration
- A commitment to culturally safe, patient‑centred healthcare
- Strong communication skills
- Experience managing acute and chronic conditions
- A cooperative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team
- An interest in preventative health and chronic disease management
- A genuine interest in Aboriginal health and culturally safe care
- A compassionate GP who enjoys building long‑term relationships with patients and providing holistic, team‑based care.
