What you'll do
- Prepare and assemble materials and equipment necessary for sterile batching processes, ensuring all items meet quality standards.
- Operate and monitor batching equipment, making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal performance and product quality.
- Follow strict protocols for sterilization and sanitation to prevent contamination during the batching process.
- Document all batching activities accurately, including ingredient quantities, batch numbers, and any deviations from standard procedures.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to conduct regular inspections and audits of the batching area and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the batching process, ensuring minimal disruption to production timelines.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices and new technologies related to sterile batching.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking raw materials and supplies needed for batching operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on processes and suggesting enhancements.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and communication throughout the production cycle.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies related to sterile manufacturing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or veterinary industry.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality control processes.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and report findings.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Proficiency in using basic computer software for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential overtime as required by production demands.
Nice to have
- Experience with sterile compounding or aseptic processing in a pharmaceutical setting.
- Certification in a relevant field, such as a pharmacy technician or similar qualification.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and hazardous materials handling.
- Previous experience with inventory management systems or ERP software.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and sterile manufacturing processes.
- Bilingual abilities in English and French are an asset.
Skills & tools
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficient in using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety protocols.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and machinery used in sterile batching.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation purposes.
Practical notes
- This position is based in Cambridge, Ontario, and candidates must have valid work authorization in Canada.
- The work schedule is Monday to Friday, starting at 3:00 PM, with potential for overtime based on production needs.
