Position Overview
Hybrid role contributing to systems and cyber security for nationally significant infrastructure that directly supports Australia’s defence capabilities and operational readiness. Focus on the complete cyber security assessment and authorisation lifecycle from threat assessment through Authority to Operate certification as part of a high‑profile modernisation program.
Responsibilities
- Execute security assessment and authorization activities for existing and in‑development systems.
- Prepare and maintain cybersecurity artefacts such as SSP, SSP‑A, SRMP, and CMP.
- Analyse systems, implement security controls, and review system changes for compliance.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to staff as appropriate.
- Travel as required.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Certifications in cyber security or related IT field (CompTIA, ISACA, ISC², Microsoft, etc.).
- A university degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security or related discipline.
- Cyber Security Certifications (ISSP, CISM, CRISC, Sec+, GSEC, CEH).
- Exposure to security tools, vulnerability scanning, or incident response.
- Familiarity with Defence and Australian Government security frameworks (ISM, DSPF, PSPF).
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security clearance.
