Remuneration package valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

Position Information

Hornsby High School is a comprehensive high school in the northern suburbs of Sydney. The school caters exclusively for the coeducational and welfare needs of all our students, attracting students from a wide drawing area. The school's mission is to provide 'exceptional learning opportunities’ and specialises in the areas of technology, creative arts, sport, and citizenship. In recent years Hornsby High School has consolidated its reputation as a leader in comprehensive education with many of the school's successful programs being emulated at other schools. The school offers Music, Creative Arts, and Academic scholarships along with programs such as Enrichment Classes from Year 7-10, whole school literacy/numeracy focus, STEM courses, and has a flourishing Student Leadership body to provide an exciting range of learning opportunities for all students. The local community has recognised the school's success, and this is reflected in increasing enrolments. Hornsby High has an enrolment of 600 and is a school where all our students thrive.

Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach Technology Mandatory (Stage and Food Technology and the capacity to effectively design and implement units of work across a range of context areas within the Technology Mandatory syllabus.
2. Evidence of effective classroom practice that includes the ability to cater for students with a diverse range of learning needs through differentiated curriculum, classroom management and integration of technology.
3.



Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of the TAS faculty and contribute to faculty programs and resources. Willingness to participate in whole school initiatives.
4. Well-developed interpersonal, communicative and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
