Aboutthe Role
We havean exciting opportunity for an experienced EnvironmentalOfficer with a focus on environmental management,sustainability and natural area conservation to support thedelivery of environmental initiatives and programs that protectand enhance the City's natural environment.
Reportingto the Service Lead Environment and working within theSustainability Team, this role is responsible for providingspecialist environmental advice, coordinating environmentalprojects and programs, supporting policy and strategydevelopment, and ensuring compliance with relevantenvironmental legislation and best practice. The role worksclosely with internal and external stakeholders to deliverpositive environmental outcomes for the community whilesupporting biodiversity conservation, natural area managementand environmental sustainability across the City.
Aboutyou
We’re seekingan experienced Environmental Officer with a focus on environmentalmanagement,
sustainability and natural area conservation to deliverenvironmental initiatives, provide expert advice and help drivepositive environmental outcomes across the City.
Besidesdemonstrated experience, you’ll need to have:
- Atertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a relateddiscipline, or equivalent experience and specialisedskills.
- Extensive knowledge ofenvironmental management practices, environmental legislation,bushland and wetland management, and environmental planningprinciples.
- Excellent written andverbal communication skills, including report writing andstakeholder engagement.
Salary andBenefits
- Starting from Level 7 Step 1 – Step 4 ($115,300 - $122,437 p/apro-rata) of the Cit y of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications and experience.
