An opportunity currently exists on afternoon shift for a Head Baker to join and lead our Uropa bakery team based at our Tullamarine site, on a full-time permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an appropriately skilled baker to craft high-quality artisan breads while overseeing daily operations.

Responsibilities

- Lead a team of bakers, ensuring smooth daily operations and production efficiency.
- Craft artisan breads such as baguettes, loaves, diamond rolls, and rectangle rolls.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, quality and consistency.
- Mentor and train team members on bread-making techniques and best practices.
- Collaborate with management on recent product ideas and menu development.
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and safety of bakery equipment.
- Ensure that all products meet customer specifications and requests are handled with care and professionalism.





Qualifications

- Certificate III in Baking
- Proficiency in making ferment for bread dough.
- Expertise in dough mixing and controlling dough temperature.
- Experience making a variety of breads such as baguettes, loaves, diamond rolls, and rectangle rolls, including setting up the line for moulding and folding.
- Ability to control the proofer and oven temperature as required.
- Ensure final product quality by checking the bread’s internal temperature per QA standards.
- Ensure the final product’s shape, internal structure, and dimensions meet packing requirements.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including Warehouse, Maintenance and management.
- Ability to successfully lead a team of Operators.
- Own transport essential.
- Right to work in Australia.
- Technical knowledge of the Uropa line (desirable).
