Austmine is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Director Corporate Services to lead the financial, operational and corporate services functions that underpin our national NFP organisation.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and joining Austmine’s Senior Leadership Team, this is a broad and influential role with accountability for the integrity of Austmine’s finances and the operational, contractual and compliance systems that support the business.

This opportunity will suit an experienced finance and corporate services skilled who enjoys working across an organisation, improving systems, solving problems and providing trusted advice to senior leaders and the Board.

About the role

The Director, Corporate Services will take ownership of Austmine’s internal financial management and corporate services function.

Responsibilities

- Leading monthly financial reporting, cashflow management, forecasting, budgeting and financial controls.
- Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, payment approvals and the effective operation of Xero.
- Working closely with Austmine’s external accountants to strengthen historical financial records.
- Coordinating the annual audit and supporting financial and risk reporting to the Board.
- Managing contracts, insurance arrangements, suppliers, IT systems, telecommunications and office operations.
- Maintaining Austmine’s compliance calendar, contract register,



insurance register, delegated authorities and risk‑management processes.
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts and working directly with legal advisers where required.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee documentation, performance processes and employment compliance.
- Providing financial and commercial insight into strategic plans, tenders, proposals and new business opportunities.
- Identifying and leading whole‑of‑business operational and systems improvements.
- Leading, managing and developing one direct report – Corporate Services Officer.
- Contributing actively as a member of Austmine’s Senior Leadership Team.
- Payroll processing is managed by an external provider. The human resources component of this role is focused on coordination, documentation and compliance oversight rather than payroll administration.

About you

You will be a confident and capable leader with strong financial credentials and the judgement to operate as Austmine’s internal authority on finance, contracts, insurance, compliance and operational matters.

- A university qualification in accounting, finance, commerce, business administration or a related discipline.
- Current CA or CPA qualification.
- At least seven years’ experience in a comparable finance, corporate services or senior business operations role.
- Strong financial management, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with external accounting providers, auditors and senior governance stakeholders.
- Experience strengthening financial records, controls, processes and reporting.
- Sound knowledge of contracts, insurance, governance, risk and regulatory compliance.
- Strong systems capability,



including proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office.
- Commercial judgement and the ability to translate financial information into practical business advice.
- Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The confidence to build trusted relationships with executives, Board members, advisers and suppliers.
- Experience working in a small-to-medium organisation, industry association or not-for-profit environment will be highly regarded.
- You will be collaborative, solutions-focused and action-oriented, with unquestionable integrity and the confidence to take ownership of complex matters.
