Position Overview

Senior Social Worker – Allied Health Department (Youth Mental Health). Part‑time 0.6 FTE (45.6 hours per fortnight). Appointment is either permanent or fixed term for twelve (12) months, with possibility of extension or permanency.

Responsibilities
Plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate social work services to patients in the Youth Mental Health specialty using advanced social work clinical practice skills.
Plan, implement and evaluate patient safety and quality of care.
Supervise social work staff and support staff in the unit/clinical area, coordinate duties and manage performance.
Practice as a Senior Social Worker and ensure practice complies with the Australian Association of Social Workers practice standards, code of ethics and SMHS policies and guidelines.

About the Hospital

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783‑bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including state rehabilitation, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose‑built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.





SMHS delivers quality, protected and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3,300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.
