Our Public Liability team supports people who have been injured in public places due to the negligence of others, helping them understand their rights and pursue the compensation they may be entitled to. The Legal Assistant will provide high‑quality administrative and legal support to lawyers, ensuring cases progress smoothly and clients feel supported and informed throughout their claim.
Responsibilities
Provide professional and empathetic support to clients and referrers
Prepare legal correspondence and documents
Manage electronic and hard‑copy files
Obtain medical and legal records and reports
Compile briefs for medico‑legal experts and counsel
Assist lawyers with court and hearing preparation
Diary, workflow and task management
Open, maintain and archive files
Support the wider team with administrative and project‑based tasks
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About You
Organised, proactive and genuinely enjoys helping others
Previous customer service experience (essential)
Robust administrative and organisational skills
Excellent attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Collaborative and team‑focused approach
Sound Microsoft Office skills and digital literacy
Legal administration experience (desirable but not essential)
Demonstrated commitment to courage, compassion, collaboration, fairness and tenacity
