Company Description Playball Australia is a physical literacy, wellbeing, and learning program for children aged 2–8. The program uses purposeful movement and sport-based activities to build confidence, competence, and physical capacity in young children. Playball also focuses on developing communication skills, self-regulation, and readiness to learn during the early childhood and early primary years.

Team members work in engaging, play-based environments that support holistic child development through active participation.

Role Description This is an in office, contract role based in Hervey Bay, QLD for an active early childhood educator / casual. The educator will deliver Playball sessions to children aged 2–8, using structured movement and sport-based activities to support physical, social, and emotional development. Day-to-day tasks include preparing age-appropriate lesson plans, setting up and packing down equipment, and guiding children through safe, engaging activities that build confidence and self-regulation.

The role involves communicating with families and early childhood services, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment, and following all safety and wellbeing protocols. The educator will also record attendance, provide feedback on children’s progress,



and collaborate with Playball Australia to ensure program consistency and quality.

Qualifications

Experience in early childhood education or primary education, with the ability to plan and deliver age-appropriate learning activities.

Strong skills in facilitating physical play, sport-based activities, and movement sessions tailored to children aged 2–8.

Ability to support children’s social-emotional development, including communication skills, confidence building, and self-regulation.

Clear and positive communication skills for engaging with children, families, and early childhood services.

Capacity to manage small groups safely, maintain a supportive environment, and follow child safety and wellbeing standards.

Relevant qualification or training in Early Childhood Education, Education, Physical Education, or a related field (or working toward such qualifications).

Current Working With Children Check (or equivalent), first aid certification, and adherence to safeguarding requirements.

Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work adaptable casual hours in office in Hervey Bay, QLD, including travel between local venues if needed.
