Celltrion Healthcare Australia is seeking an experiencedNational Sales Managerto lead our field sales team and drive the commercial success of our growing specialty pharmaceutical portfolio.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing national sales strategies, coaching a high-performing team of Medical Representatives, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver sustainable business growth.
This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the Australian healthcare environment, particularly within hospital and specialty care.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Planning & Cross-Functional Alignment
Align regularly with management to review business performance, product priorities, sales results, and strategic objectives.
Monitor the business performance and market position of each product and develop, implement, and monitor corrective action plans and commercial initiatives to address performance gaps and achieve sales and market share targets.
Conduct regular business review meetings with Commercial, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, and other relevant functions to ensure alignment of priorities and execution plans.
Contribute to annual business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.
Account Analysis & Strategic Planning
Analyze sales performance, market share trends, customer opportunities, and competitive dynamics utilizing IQVIA data, hospital purchasing data (HPT), tender information, and other relevant market intelligence sources.
Identify and prioritize target accounts, hospitals, and healthcare institutions based on market potential, product opportunities, and strategic importance.
Develop quarterly and annual account prioritization plans and establish product-specific action plans for key target accounts.
Support and review Medical Representatives' account strategies, customer action plans, and progress updates to ensure alignment with business priorities and sales objectives.
Monitor execution of account plans and ensure timely follow-up of agreed actions.
Provide leadership, direction, and business management for a national team of Medical Representatives (MRs), ensuring alignment with company objectives and commercial priorities.
Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing Medical Representatives through regular performance management, field visits, and in-field coaching.
Lead weekly sales meetings to review business performance per account basis, customer activities, sales opportunities, and progress against targets.
Maintain accurate sales reporting and analyze performance trends, providing visibility of achievements, risks, and opportunities at individual, state, and national levels.
Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to Medical Representatives in line with management direction and business priorities.
Establish follow-up actions arising from sales meetings and business reviews, monitor progress to completion, and proactively address barriers to execution.
Escalate business risks, operational challenges,
and resource requirements to management where appropriate to ensure timely resolution.
Gather, analyze, and communicate market intelligence, including competitor activities, product positioning, pricing strategies, tender opportunities, reimbursement changes, market access initiatives, and healthcare system developments.
Identify emerging opportunities and potential business risks and provide recommendations to management.
Share actionable market insights with internal stakeholders to support strategic planning, forecasting, and commercial decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Biotechnology, or a related healthcare discipline.
Candidates with a pharmacy or other healthcare professional background are highly regarded.
WORK EXPERIENCE
10+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.
3–5+ years of experience leading and developing field-based sales teams.
Proven success in specialty pharmaceutical, biologics, biosimilars, hospital, or specialty care sales.
Experience working with hospitals, key healthcare stakeholders, and the Australian healthcare system.
Experience in tender management, commercial strategy, or market access is highly desirable.
