A well-established national commercial law firm is looking to appoint a Corporate & Commercial Lawyer to join its growing Sydney practice.
This opportunity offers exposure to a broad range of sophisticated transactional, advisory and governance work for Australian and international organisations across both the private and public sectors.
The team works closely with businesses of all sizes, government agencies, financial institutions and emerging enterprises, providing commercially focused advice on complex legal and regulatory matters.
This is an excellent prospect for a lawyer looking to broaden their experience beyond traditional corporate transactions, with exposure to mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracting, governance, regulatory compliance, privacy and public sector matters.
The Role
Working as part of a collaborative and high-performing team, you will advise on a diverse range of matters including:
Private mergers, acquisitions and business sales
Corporate restructures and strategic commercial transactions
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements
Corporate governance, compliance and regulatory advisory work
Foreign investment approvals and regulatory requirements
Government procurement and public sector contracting
Privacy, data governance and information management
Legal research, client advisory work and strategic risk management

About You
You are an Australian-qualified lawyer with experience in corporate and commercial law and a genuine interest in building a well-rounded commercial practice.
You will also demonstrate:
Experience in one or more of corporate transactions, commercial contracting, governance, regulatory or public sector advisory work
Strong drafting, technical and analytical skills
A commercial mindset with a practical approach to problem solving
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Confidence building relationships with clients and colleagues
A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to continue developing your career
