Team Leader Financial Reporting Sydney CBD | CPA/CA Qualified | Insurance Industry Experience Required
We're looking for an experienced Team Leader Financial Reporting to join our Finance team and play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the finance function.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Financial Reporting, you will lead a small team responsible for month-end close, statutory reporting, reconciliations, APRA reporting, audit coordination, and financial controls.
You'll also partner with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
About You
We're seeking a technically strong finance professional with: CPA or CA qualification 10+ years' experience within Private Health Insurance (preferred), General Insurance, or Life Insurance Experience preparing statutory accounts and APRA returns Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing team members Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Experience working with ERP systems (TechnologyOne highly regarded) A proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and continuous improvement
What You'll Be Doing
Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting activities Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls Manage statutory reporting and APRA returns Coordinate external audit requirements Drive reporting process improvements and finance projects Develop and support team capability Partner with stakeholders across Finance and the broader business
