Job Description
Patrol, inspect and report on the condition of broadacre crops and livestock.
Assist with broadacre cropping operations including planting, fertilising, spraying support and harvesting.
Operate tractors and other farm machinery used in crop production.
Load and unload seed, fertiliser, livestock feed and harvested produce.
Feed and water livestock in accordance with established feeding programs.
Assist with monitoring livestock health and welfare and report any concerns.
Muster and move livestock between paddocks and handling facilities.
Maintain and clean farm infrastructure including sheds, yards, fences, water systems, irrigation equipment and machinery.
Perform routine servicing and maintenance of farm equipment.
Carry out general property maintenance and seasonal farming duties.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
About the Candidate
The Opportunity Peacefield Egg Farms Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable and motivated Broadacre Crop and Livestock Farm Worker to join its mixed farming operation near Townsville, Queensland.
This is a permanent full-time position suited to applicants with practical experience across both broadacre cropping and livestock production.
The successful applicant will be involved in a wide range of farming activities including crop production, machinery operation, livestock handling and general farm maintenance.
Previous experience working on a mixed broadacre cropping and livestock enterprise.
Experience operating tractors and general agricultural machinery.
Sound knowledge of livestock handling and animal husbandry practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valuable communication and organisational skills.
A current driver's licence (preferred).
A positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to work in seasonal conditions.
Work Environment
Permanent full-time employment.
Salary between $79,500 and $85,500 per annum, plus superannuation.
