Teaching English and/or Social & Community Studies, you will work with small cohorts of students in a supportive, trauma-informed workplace where building trust and meaningful connections is at the heart of student success.
This is a full-time permanent position commencing in Term 3, with working hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm.
The teaching structure consists of two student cohorts, with face-to-face teaching on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and Wednesdays dedicated to planning,



collaboration and student support.DutiesDeliver engaging lessons in English and/or Social & Community Studies to Year 11 and 12 studentsBuild positive relationships that encourage student engagement and participationSupport students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds to achieve their individual goalsWork collaboratively with teacher aides, leadership and wellbeing staff to provide tailored supportCreate an inclusive and supportive classroom environmentContribute to individual learning plans and student progressRole RequirementsCurrent Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration (full or provisional)Secondary teaching qualificationAbility to teach English and/or Social & Community StudiesA genuine passion for supporting disengaged young peopleStrong relationship-building and communication skillsExperience working with neurodiverse students or alternative education settings is desirable but not essentialThe SchoolWe're partnering with a well-established Special Assistance School that provides an alternative pathway for Year 11 and 12 students who have disengaged from traditional education.
With small class sizes of approximately 16 students and extensive classroom support, teachers are empowered to focus on what matters most- building relationships and helping students rediscover a love of learning.
