We Care NSW is a provider of specialist mental health, disability and OOHC services. We are a growing Not for Profit organisation that prides itself on offering quality support services to those living with a mental health concern, disability and children and young people living in OOHC.

Our service delivery covers children, young people and adults in the Maitland, Newcastle, Hunter and Tweed region.

About the role

We are currently seeking a Psychologist | Clinical Psychologist to join our established team in Maitland and Newcastle NSW. This role is available either part time (minimum 24 hours per week) or full time.

You will provide psychological assessment, consultation, therapeutic interventions and qualified services to children, young people and adults funded under the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Medicare, DCJ and Fee for Service.

A Working with Children Check is required before starting in this position due to the nature of working with children and young people.

Skills and Experience





Relevant tertiary qualifications and full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Current Professional Indemnity Insurance

Relevant experience as a psychologist working with children, young people, adults and families within trauma informed frameworks or willingness to work with these clients groups.

Minimum of 1-2 years of psychology experience is required for this position.

Highly developed effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills

Proven ability to think critically, problem solve and make timely, sound clinical decisions whilst working autonomously.

Ability to communicate effectively and engage and collaborate with consumers, their families and carers and/or other stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to deal with emotionally charged situations and unpredictable behaviour calmly and constructively

Well-developed written communication skills and competence in the use of information technology systems.

Ability to work independently and in consultation with the multidisciplinary team

AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor for Provisional Psychologists
