Your role

Join the Legal Operations team within DCJ Legal and play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality legal services As a Senior Contract Administrator, you will coordinate the establishment and ongoing administration of legal services contracts, monitor supplier performance, and ensure strong governance and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse range of stakeholders while contributing to procurement, contract management and continuous improvement initiatives that have a meaningful impact across the department.

What you’ll do

As part of the Legal Operations team within DCJ Legal, you will coordinate the establishment and administration of professional services contracts that enable the delivery of quality legal services across the Department of Communities and Justice. You will contribute to and coordinate procurement processes including the management of tender projects, manage contract administration activities, monitor supplier performance, and provide reporting and governance support to key stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are met.

You will:

- Coordinate the establishment and ongoing administration of legal services panels and contracts in accordance with legislation, procurement requirements and DCJ policies.
- Support procurement, tender and supplier selection activities, including contract establishment and transition processes.
- Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations, service standards and key performance indicators, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Prepare contract performance reports, briefing notes, discussion papers and other documentation to support informed decision-making.
- Maintain contract management systems,



electronic databases and payment platforms to ensure accurate records and reporting.
- Analyse contract performance data and provide recommendations to strengthen governance, manage risk and improve operational effectiveness.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders and contracted legal service providers.
- Coordinate the investigation and resolution of contract performance issues, complaints and compliance matters.
- Deliver guidance and training to promote consistent contract administration practices and compliance with procurement and governance requirements.
- Monitor emerging risks relating to legal service delivery, confidentiality, conflicts management and contractual compliance.
- Work as part of a collaborative and supportive Legal Operations team that partners closely with legal practitioners, executives and external service providers.

What we’re looking for

- Demonstrated experience in contract administration, contract management, procurement, legal operations, project management or a related field, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NSW Procurement Framework, procurement governance or best practice contract management principles, with the ability to apply legislative and policy requirements.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience preparing reports, analysing performance data and building productive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to identify and manage contract risks, monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement while maintaining professionalism, integrity and sound judgement when handling sensitive information.
